Qigong (or Chi-Gung) is based upon a set of health promoting practices that developed during pre-historic times in ceremonial and other tribal dances. The dance includes special forms of breathing, meditation and postures. Taijiquan (ty chee chuan) is a subset that developed as a “soft form” of martial arts about 300 years ago. Both work with energy and are distinctive for their slowly moving meditative exercises or posture changes that flow from one form to another. Many of these postures have been paralleled after the movements of animals and are often described as “swimming in the air”.
Buddhism: Karma and How to Cure Cancer – w/Bhante Vimalaramsi
This is an except from a talk that the Venerable Vimalaramsi gave in Seattle Washington USA in March 2007. He discusses the Sutta (MN135) on Kamma (karma) and what it is and how it works. The first 2 min are him reading the Sutta, then he tells some very interesting stories!
Bhante gives you real stories of what he suggested people do to fight “bad” kamma and improve your health and well-being. It is far out and you have never heard this before, but please listen first before you make up your mind on this very creative solution to the “ills” of existence!
Ajahn Jayasaro - Buddhist meditation for healing – more
"Try to be mindful, and let things take their natural course. Then your mind will become still in any surroundings, like a clear forest pool. All kinds of wonderful, rare animals will come to drink at the pool, and you will clearly see the nature of all things. You will see many strange and wonderful things come and go, but you will be still. This is the happiness of the Buddha." - Ajahn Chah
5 Buddhist Precepts
1 abstain from harming living beings | 2 abstain from taking things not freely given. | 3 abstain from sexual misconduct. | 4 abstain from false speech. | 5 abstain from intoxicating drinks and drugs causing heedlessness.
My Daily Motivation
"Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue."
