I just came back from the newly opened terminal 3 of Singapore’s Changi international airport. Took some pictures as seen through the eyes of ratanaong for my blogging friends on the world’s number one airport terminal. I was awed by the sight.
However, I just don’t get it that this world class city could not accomodate the regular budget traveller, whom needed to depart and arrive in another much much smaller and toned down budget terminal.

Wow! Smaller airports often have beautiful architecture without being overwhelming.

Hi Amiene, That’s what it looked like when I was at the terminal. Even more like computer graphics when I first saw it. It’s real! ratanaong

I would be so lost, but I would probably just wander around in the airport and call it enough sightseeing for the day and fly home.

In some ways it looks like an oversize, upmarket humungous bathroom to me ~ with all those shiny tiled floors! They look so slippery!
But yes! It is all impressive but a decided deterrent for the humble traveller!
Great post!

Hi Lilibeth and AuraGem,
ha..ha..ha..close to that. Singaporeans do treat the airport as one possible visit during the weekend. Its not slippery at all. Afterall the Mass transit go right below the terminals. Love your humorous comments.

WOW – that looks like it is so big that by the time you walked from one end of the building to the other you could have walked to another country! And I thought the super WalMarts and Lowe’s Home Improvement’s warehouses were bad!

Holy moley! I would so not fit in there.

Hi Cricket’s Hearth,
In a way, that’s correct. Just cross over the checkpoint and you’re literally in no man’s land till you board the plane for another country. Love your sense of humor.
Hi Patois,
That’s because you’re thin
Hi Tumblewords,
Gorgeous is the right word. You’re can see people walked as if they’re tip toeing when they first entered. Guess they are afraid of damaging the gleaming tiles. Thanks for visiting.

to say that less is more.. could not possibly cover the imagination of my mind… just to wrap my mind around the size is nearly impossible… though i am intrigued by the artistry of dimensions…
