Writer’s Island: “Changed”

By ratanaong

Post Theme: “Change is Everywhere! Ride it for a better tomorrow!”

Life changes are everywhere. To experience it, I would stay still. Watch as my thoughts changed. I meant really really watched it. Similarly, listened, as the sound changed. Looked, as the screen cursor blinked. Likewise, sense it, as the smell changed. These simple changes helped me understood that changes could be observed in everday life and that changes are everywhere. Albeit, some changes were ugly while others beautiful.

The ugliness of change could have came from the misunderstood thoughts of doing good for others when in fact, as can be seen during the Nazis period under the hands of a dictator, chaos and sufferings followed. The pain, the hardship and the sufferings of the innocent that followed during and immediately after the downing of the World Trade Center.

On the other hand, a good example on the beauty of change came about from the positive desire of doing things right and doing things that benefit fellow humans. Mother Theresa was a good example of a lone woman championing for the cause of the poor and the lonely people. She did well to change the perceptions of many and in calling for action to help however we can. I saw the beauty of change then. She left a legacy and here’s one tribute to her.

Nevertheless, through such changes, I learned of the inner strength of humans. I learned the courage of humans and I learned the extreme changes that humans must bear as a result of a single thought. At a more personal level, the experiences taught me to ride those changes even during peace times, for the next ride may bring me failure as we lived through time. I would ride it when I’m down, for the next ride may bring me closer to success. Hence, I would note that changes are everywhere! Ride it for a better tomorrow!

It’s amazing how the greatest changes for good can often come from our worst changing experiences.

“be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies….”

anything we do with love and empathy — one person that we feed, one person that we show love to that does not have enough love, one person that we lend an ear to who needs to talk, one person that we visit who is lonely, i could go and on…..the bottom line being…we can all EFFECT a change by the small things we do. the strength lies in that indeed.

thank you for that post. it was lovely and inspiring.

It’s amazing how much one individual can change this world for good or ill. Makes you wonder what YOU can do, if you set your mind to it.

We should all strive to change for a better today as well as a better tomorrow. Nice post.

We need to learn to be receptive to changes and we, too, could be an object of change. Humans have endured many changes and we have triumphed. We are resilient and the present generation the living proof of that survival, and of that triumph. We have it in our hands to make the changes that we wanted – we just need to do it.
